The fischer HM 6 x 37 S (article 519777) is a metal cavity fixing supplied with a pre-assembled metric screw, for fixing into hollow board materials. It suits panel thicknesses of 6 to 15mm and needs a 12mm drilled hole at least 45mm deep; the anchor is 37mm long.
When tightened, the expanding arms open out behind the board to give a large bearing surface, and claws on the collar grip the board face to stop the fixing rotating. Because the screw runs into a metric thread, the fixture can be removed and refitted repeatedly. fischer list it for gypsum plasterboard, fibreboard, cavity floor slabs, wood wool boards, chipboard and plywood, for items such as light shelves and mirror cabinets. It can be set with the fischer HM-Z 1 setting pliers. Supplied in a box of 50.
