The Chint NCH8-40⁄40 (article 256099) is a DIN-rail modular contactor with 4NO contacts and a 220/230V AC coil, for switching heating, lighting and similar loads in distribution boards. It is rated 40A in AC-1/AC-7a and 15A in AC-7b (household motor loads) at 400 V, with a conventional thermal current of 63A.
Chint list it as operating without noise (no coil hum). The coil picks up at 85-110% and releases at 20-75% of rated voltage. Electrical life is 100,000 operations (AC-1/AC-7a) and mechanical life 1,000,000; insulation voltage is 500V and impulse withstand 4kV. It is 54 mm (3 modules) wide, IP20, with terminals for 2.5-16 mm², 2.0 Nm, and complies with IEC/EN 61095 and IEC 60947-4-1. The contactor is not designed to break short-circuit currents.
