Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before using our website or placing an order. By registering an account or placing an order on www.electricalwholesaler.ie, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. About Us

www.electricalwholesaler.ie is operated by Monaghan Electrical Wholesaler Ltd, a company registered in Ireland (registration number 98219), with its registered office at Plantation Road, Monaghan, Co. Monaghan, H18 E781.

You can contact us at:

2. These Terms

These terms govern your use of our website and your purchase of products from us. They apply each time you visit the website or place an order.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on the website at the time you place an order is the version that applies to that order. We recommend reviewing these terms periodically.

3. Eligibility

To register an account and purchase from us you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a valid delivery address in Ireland
  • Provide accurate and complete information when registering

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel orders and close accounts where we reasonably believe these conditions are not met.

4. Your Account

Registration

You can register an account using your email address or via Google sign-in. You may only hold one account per email address.

For email registration, a verification link is sent to your email address before your account is activated. Your account is not created until you confirm your email.

For Google sign-in, your name, email address, and Google account identifier are used to create your account. Marketing communications are disabled by default for Google sign-in registrations.

Account security

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity carried out under your account. If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us immediately.

Country

Your account is associated with a country determined at registration based on your location. This cannot be changed by you. If the country assigned to your account is incorrect, please contact us via a support ticket and we will correct it.

5. Placing an Order

You must be signed in to place an order. A step-by-step guide is available on our Placing an Order page.

Order acknowledgement

Once payment is received, you will receive an order acknowledgement email confirming we have received your order and payment. This acknowledgement is not an acceptance of your order — it confirms receipt only.

We review each order for stock availability and dispatch confirmed items. If we are unable to fulfil your order or any part of it, we will notify you and process a refund.

Our right to refuse or cancel

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order before dispatch, including where:

  • Items are out of stock or unavailable
  • We are unable to verify your payment
  • Your order appears to have been placed by automated means
  • There is a clear pricing error on the website (see section 7)

If we cancel your order, you will receive a full refund to your original payment method.

6. Partial Fulfilment

Where an order contains multiple items, each item is reviewed individually. If some items are unavailable:

  • We will contact you to inform you of the situation
  • Unavailable items will be refunded to your original payment method
  • Available items will be dispatched as normal under the same order

Your receipt and VAT invoice (when issued) will reflect only the items actually dispatched.

7. Pricing

All prices on the website are displayed in euro (€) and are inclusive of VAT at the applicable Irish rate. Both the net (ex-VAT) and gross (inc-VAT) prices are shown throughout the website.

Account discounts

  • Prices shown to visitors who are not signed in are full (non-discounted) prices
  • Registered customers receive discounts of up to 15%, and in some cases higher, across many product categories

The price you see when signed in to your account is the price you pay.

Price accuracy

We take care to ensure prices are accurate. If a pricing error is identified:

  • Where the correct price is lower than displayed, we will charge the lower amount
  • Where the correct price is higher than displayed, we will contact you before proceeding or cancel the order and issue a full refund

In the event of a clear system error resulting in an obviously incorrect price, we reserve the right to cancel affected orders and issue a full refund, regardless of whether an order acknowledgement has been sent.

We are not obliged to fulfil an order at an incorrect price where the error was or should have been reasonably apparent.

8. Payment

Payment is processed securely by our payment provider. We do not store your card details — only the information necessary to fulfil your order is retained: your name, delivery address, phone number, and (where provided) business name and registration number for invoicing purposes.

We support 3D Secure authentication for all cards that accept it. This provides an additional layer of security for your payment and helps protect you against unauthorised use of your card.

For a full list of accepted payment methods, see our Payment Methods page. Available methods are also displayed at checkout.

Bank verification

Your bank may request additional verification when you pay online by card. This is a security measure applied by your bank, not by us. For questions about this, please contact your bank directly.

9. Delivery

We currently deliver to Ireland only. Full details on shipping costs, dispatch times, and tracking are available on our Shipping & Returns page.

Orders are dispatched same day or within a few days depending on order volume. We are not responsible for delays caused by the carrier once your order has been dispatched.

10. Order Cancellation

Cancelling your order

If you wish to cancel your order before it is dispatched, please call us or contact us via a support ticket as soon as possible. We will do our best to stop the order before dispatch, but cannot guarantee this if processing has already begun.

If your order has already been dispatched, it cannot be cancelled at that point — you may return it instead under our returns policy (see section 11).

Our right to cancel

We may cancel your order before dispatch where items are found to be unavailable. In this case you will receive a full refund and a notification by email.

11. Returns and Refunds

We accept returns in the following circumstances.

Goods no longer required

Items must be returned:

  • Within 28 days of dispatch
  • In their original packaging and in a re-saleable condition

Faulty goods

If a product is faulty, it may be returned within the manufacturer’s warranty period. Returned items will be inspected. We will issue a replacement or a full refund at our discretion.

Under Irish and EU consumer law, goods must conform to the description and purpose for which they were sold. If they do not, you have rights regardless of any manufacturer warranty — please contact us.

Note on manufacturer warranties: some manufacturers (such as Milwaukee) operate their own warranty and service networks. In these cases we will direct you to the manufacturer’s service centre, which may be better placed to assess and resolve the issue quickly.

Incorrect goods supplied

If we send you the wrong item, please notify us within 3 days of receiving the goods. Items must be returned within 28 days of dispatch.

Goods damaged in transit

Please notify us within 3 days of receiving the goods if your delivery arrived damaged.

How to return

  1. Complete the Returns Form
  2. Package the item in its original packaging along with the completed returns form and your proof of purchase
  3. Send to:

Monaghan Electrical Wholesaler Ltd
Plantation Road, Monaghan, Co. Monaghan, H18 E781

If your order was cancelled after dispatch and the parcel is already in transit, please allow it to be delivered and then return it using the above process. In some cases we may be able to arrange a collection — please contact us to discuss.

Refunds

Refunds are processed automatically to your original payment method, typically within a few days of us approving the return or cancellation. If you have not received your refund within a reasonable time, please contact us.

For full details on how to make a return, see our Shipping & Returns page.

12. Statutory Right of Withdrawal

Under Irish and EU consumer law, you have the right to withdraw from a distance purchase without giving any reason within 14 days of receiving your goods.

To exercise this right, notify us clearly within the 14-day period — by email to [email protected] or via a support ticket.

You must return the goods to us within 14 days of notifying us. Return postage costs are your responsibility unless the goods are faulty or incorrect.

We will refund the full purchase price, including standard delivery costs, within 14 days of receiving the returned goods (or proof of return, whichever is earlier). Refunds are made to your original payment method.

This right does not apply to goods that have been used beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect them.

13. Liability

Our liability in connection with any purchase is limited to the purchase price of the items ordered.

We are not liable for: - Loss of income, revenue, profit, or data - Indirect or consequential loss of any kind

Product liability — claims arising from a defective product causing injury or damage are governed by Irish and EU product liability law, which places primary liability on the producer of that product. The producer may be the manufacturer, the importer who brought the product into the EU, or the party who placed their name or brand on the product. We will assist you in identifying and contacting the relevant producer for any such claim.

Conformity of goods — if a product does not match its description, is not fit for purpose, or is not of satisfactory quality, you have rights against us as the seller under Irish consumer law. See section 11 (Returns and Refunds) and section 14 (Your Consumer Rights).

These terms do not affect any rights you have under Irish and EU law that cannot legally be excluded. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for injury or damage caused by our own fault or negligence.

14. Your Consumer Rights

Your statutory rights under Irish and EU consumer law are not affected by these terms. In summary:

  • Goods must conform to their description, be fit for purpose, and be of satisfactory quality
  • If they are not, you are entitled to repair, replacement, a price reduction, or a refund, depending on the circumstances
  • These rights apply for a minimum of two years from delivery, and Irish law may allow you to pursue a claim for longer

Nothing in these terms removes or limits these rights. If you have a concern about a product, please contact us in the first instance.

Manufacturer warranties — many products come with a manufacturer’s warranty in addition to your statutory rights. We will honour the terms of any manufacturer warranty and, where the manufacturer operates their own service network (as is the case with some brands), we will direct you to their authorised service centre. Manufacturer warranties do not replace or limit your statutory rights.

15. Installation and Correct Use

All electrical products must be installed and used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, applicable wiring regulations, and any relevant Irish and EU safety standards.

Where installation is required, it must be carried out by a suitably qualified and competent person. We are not responsible for damage, injury, or loss caused by incorrect installation, misuse, or failure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions or applicable regulations by the purchaser or any third party.

This clause does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer or limit our responsibility for any product that does not conform to its description or specification.

  • Misrepresent your identity or provide false information
  • Use the website for any unlawful purpose

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to accounts that breach these conditions.

17. Force Majeure

We will not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where that failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: strikes, civil unrest, fire, flood, natural disaster, pandemic, failure of telecommunications networks, or acts of government.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Updated terms will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the website or placement of an order after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

19. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the website will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
